Last Thursday, we held our Relief Society Canning meeting. It was well attended and an enjoyable evening. We began our meeting with a spiritual thought by Kolleen on the guidance we've received from prophets on storing food and being prepared. Joyce taught about the supplies and techniques for canning various foods. She brought samples of the many different foods she cans. The sisters in attendence had many questions. Joyce, as well as other sisters with canning experience, provided answers on different canning techniques. After this presentation, Nancy, with the help of Kolleen and Nancy S., gave a demonstration on canning peaches. We ended the meeting with the tasting of peach jam and homemade scones. For those who are interested in doing some hands-on canning with experienced canners,
