Money Management Classes- Review

Our "Nickels and Dimes" Money Management meeting was held on Thursday evening, June 17th.

Carrie presented us with Church resources: "One for the Money" booklets and "All is Safely Gathered In" pamphlets on family finances. If you'd like these, we have more in the Relief Society closet or you can ask for them at the ward clerk's office. She also gave creative ideas on ways for children to earn and manage money, and provided lists of consignment stores to shop and consign. The sisters in attendance had additional ideas for inexpensive places to shop.

Jesica led us in the discovery of many fun places to go for inexpensive family fun. Included in her ideas were many places to hike or bike, interesting sites to tour, and free movies (indoors and outdoors). Those listening had many more ideas to offer as well!

Ann's presentation on low-cost meals gave us ways to answer ever present concerns such as "I don't have time to cook", " Nothing sounds good", "I don't feel like cooking tonight", and "I want to go out to dinner". Her solutions: think ahead, use a crock pot, keep it simple, have simple meals on hand, and make a meal special like a restaurant meal. She gave lots of ideas on freezing and storing food for ease of use, as well as several recipes that are healthful and use items that we can store. She also provided recipes and some delicious meal items to try.
