Our First Aid Training held on May 20th was well attended and a night of good discussion and tips for helping ourselves and our loved ones times of need.
For those who missed it:
Do you have the phone number for Poison Control? Ricki provided Poison Control magnets to keep on your fridge- come and get one from the Relief Society room.
What are the best resources to have while camping? Clare says always have duct tape and an "Afterbite" stick. He also taught us how to recognize and treat hypothermia, heat stroke, and heat exhaustion, among other things.
What items should be in your first aid emergency kit? Allen showed us his, which included bandage wraps, tape, medications for pain and for cold symptoms, etc.
How do you treat bleeding? Keep a cloth or bandage on it until it is saturated and then add another on top, without peeling the first off. If the second is saturated, seek help.
